Welcome to my first of many blog posts. This blog will be for keeping people up to date on my latest painting projects. As always you can follow me on Instagram @lukefarlowart and @crayonbreaky. I will also use this as a forum to explain my thinking and process with my paintings.
For instance, with this one, "Late Night Winter Stroll" I tried several new things. The falling snow was a messy endeavor (ie. splatter paint). Trees are still a work in progress. But, I am definitely having fun with them. I like the fact I added some people in the distance. I also used a bit of "watercolor" thin transparent to create a airy and light effect for the background buildings. Maybe this takes place at a university? I wanted it to feel cold, but not frigid. There are places of warmth to help evoke those feelings.
Thank you again to everyone for the continued support with my art.
My latest project was started last week. With summer around the corner, I wanted to try a winter scene. It is not completed yet, but you can see the progress above. I may add things to it. But, it is listed on my site for sale now. Do you think I should add more? If yes, what should I add, not add? Please leave comments on this blog post below, on my Facebook, Instagram, or anywhere you can find me. Thanks.
I really appreciate all of the positive response I have gotten regarding my art, website, and all. Thank you.
Coming soon... I will talk about common recurring things found in most of my paintings and why and what they mean. I also want to talk about what features I like to focus on most.
