Updated: A Good Day

June 5, 2016

Today was a good day. I got a lot done and a lot of good things I wanted to happen, did happen.  Tonight, I started another painting. This one has gone through the typical (for me) path of disgust, unknown, and success.  As my friend Michelle says, you need to let the painting tell you the direction.  It took a bit for this one to give me direction. But, I think I have a solid plan.  I do believe this will have people in it, too. I like the light play with the street lamps and the background lighting bright spots that could be faraway street lamps or something else. I will rework the reflections in the sidewalk and the path in the distance. I have high hopes for this piece.

The next day: I made final changes and finishing touches to the painting. I thought I about the park bench and or people, but I decided not to add them in. Where does this path go?

I added a girl with her backpack on a park bench. I like that it calls back to my earlier works with the girls in the big city looking in awe. (These paintings are in my store, but have sold. You can still check them out though.

Here is a close up picture of the additions.

Thank you for stopping by.  Stay tuned for the completion of this piece soon.

On the bottom here, is the painting as it was last night.
